The NBS which is the central depository for all official statistics produced in Tanzania, is responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of official statistics. Specifically, the services offered by NBS, include: To collect data from various sources, analyze, publish, and distribute to stakeholders, To conduct surveys and provide technical advice on sampling, statistical data collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of collected data whenever requested by a user/stakeholder, To develop standards, methods and provide interpretation of concepts and definitions, To provide raw data for researchers and other stakeholders, To prepare maps needed for various surveys and censuses, and To provide professional advice and instructions on how to use Statistical information according to specific customer requirement.

      This report presents the Key results of the Integrated Labor Force Survey (ILFS) conducted in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar from July 2020 to June 2021. The survey was conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and Office of the Chief Government Statistician Zanzibar ( OCGS) in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Office, Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Youth, Employment and Person with Disability on behalf of the Government of United Republic of Tanzania. The 2020/21 is the sixth of such survey conducted by the Government in collaboration with Development Partners (DPs) and other stakeholders.

      The latest figures for 2020 presented in this dataset for some indicators are provisional and some indicators were revised according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Tanzania revision policies. Also, information in some tables is sourced from census and surveys which are mostly conducted in a lag of ten or five years. The data gaps attributed to the census and surveys shall be filled immediately upon the availability of respective reports.

      Data cited at: https://tanzania.opendataforafrica.org/tvqqfug The Export and Import Price Index (XMPI) covers both exports and imports of merchandise trade. These quarterly specification-based XMPI have been compiled and disseminated since the first quarter of 2013 up to the last quarter 2017 with reference base period of March quarter 2013. The updated XMPI has the fourth quarter of 2017 as the reference base period. The updating of the weights and the product sample for the XMPI used customs data for the years 2014 to 2016. Initiation of price collection for the updated XMPI was carried out during the period October-December 2017. This allows for the compilation of the XMPI for the fourth quarter of 2017 using the new product and enterprise samples.

      Data cited at: https://tanzania.opendataforafrica.org/yamem Quarterly IIP compares the index of industrial sector in the second quarter of the current year and the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Results indicate that the overall index of industrial production (IIP) increased from 133.3 in the second quarter of 2015 to 141.9 in the 3 second quarter of 2016, recording the annual IIP rate of 6.4. This increase is attributed to the increase in manufacturing sub-sector (7.5 percent); mining and quarrying (5.0 percent) and water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (1.3 percent). However, there is a decrease in production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply subsector (-0.3 percent).

      The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is responsible for the collection, compilation and dissemination of Official Statistics in the country, including Quarterly Gross Domestic Product Estimates (QGDP). The estimates are used for short term economic planning, monitoring and policy formulation. Quarterly Gross Domestic Product is measured as a value of goods and services produced by resident producers a period of January – March, April – June, July – September and October - December. In the compilation of QGDP estimates, all economic activities are covered.

      Data cited at: https://tanzania.opendataforafrica.org/lwszueb Producer Price Index measures the average change over time in the prices received by selected domestic producers for the production of their goods. A basket includes a list of selected commodities of goods that are being priced on quarterly basis. The producer prices are collected as at 15th of the mid-month of every quarter that is February, May, August and November for Quarters (January-March), (April-June), (July-September) and (October-December) respectively.
